- I am submitting a program that
-
- simulates a Slot Machine. I origin-
-
- ally wrote my first version of this
-
- program for the Radio Shack TRS-80
-
- several years ago as my first BASIC
-
- program. That original version did
-
- not have graphics but merely printed
-
- the names of the symbols to the
-
- screen. When I got my COMMODORE 64
-
- a little over a year ago, I modified
-
- that program for the 64 utilizing
-
- Sprite graphics to display the sym-
-
- bols, it was my first experience with
-
- using sprites.
-
- Here are the simple operating
-
- instructions. After loading the pro-
-
- gram and RUNning it, it takes a short
-
- time to initialize itself. When it is
-
- ready it displays "DEPOSIT COIN" below
-
- the middle of the screen. You then
-
- must hit any key (or space bar) to
-
- initiate play. The symbols are then
-
- displayed and a win or lose message is
-
- shown as well as your "score" in units
-
- of one (plus or minus). Each push of
-
- a key plays again. It is very simple.
